2015 Annual Wake County Preservation Celebration

Capital Area Preservation and the Wake County Historic Preservation Commission host the Annual Wake County Preservation Celebration on May 3, 2015 at the Dr. Thomas H. Avera House at 6600 Robertson Pond Road in Wendell from 3-5pm. Historic marker plaques will be presented to four (4) new historic landmarks in Wake County.

 

Join us for a pre-Celebration preview of the Robertson Mill Site & Dam

Wake County Preservation Celebration attendees are invited to preview the not-yet-open-to-the-public Robertson Mill Pond Preserve with Wake County Parks, Recreation & Open Space staff. The future preserve, which includes one of Wake County’s newest historic landmarks, the Robertson Mill Site & Dam, is slated to open to the public sometime in the summer of 2015. The landmark includes the original 1820s mill dam and the foundation of the 1820s gristmill constructed by Dr. Thomas H. Avera’s father William.
