The Pugh House is an excellent example of a ca. 1870 I-house with Italianate-influenced elaborate porches. The house is one of only three houses in the Town of Morrisville that retains its detailed sawnwork, and of the three, is the most elaborate architecturally. The house is also important for its association with Mabel Pugh, daughter of the original owner of the house, who was one of the most noted artists in North Carolina, as well as nationally for her blockprint artwork illustrations.
