The Norris-Holland-Hare House is locally significant as a rare and intact example of an early nineteenth-century hall-and-parlor house. The house retains a high level of exterior integrity of materials, including wood sash windows, plain weatherboards, stone foundation piers, and the Flemish bond brick chimneys. The interior of the dwelling also retains integrity of design, materials, and workmanship with its hall-and-parlor arrangement with an enclosed stair, reeded trim, hand planed wall planks, and paneled mantels. The Norris-Holland-Hare House remained in the same family for nearly two centuries, with strong ties to local families that helped establish the area around Holleman’s Crossroads in the Holly Springs vicinity.
