The one-and-one-half-story Jesse E. and Blake C. Howard House, built ca. 1923, is an excellent example of a large, and largely intact one-and-one-half-story eclectic bungalow combining Craftsman and Colonial Revival elements throughout. The house is primarily Craftsman in style, featuring as one of its most striking details the expansive, symmetrical wraparound porch. Other notable features of the style include the gabled and dormered roofline, exposed rafter ends, false beams under the gables, heavy mantel shelves, and simple staircase with square newel posts. Complementing the symmetrical massing of the house are several notable Colonial Revival details including the post-and-lintel door and window surrounds, the multi-light-over-one windows, the front door with sidelight and transom, and while altered, the original central hall plan.
